Perennial Flowers: How Long Do They Last?
A perennial can live for up to two years if you leave it in the ground. You can also make it last a lot longer if you cut the stalks off after blooming, and dig the bulbs gently out of the ground, and store them until fall. If you want to do this, make sure that you don’t pull the bulbs.
